Evangelicals in America: TIME Cover Story + NPR on Scientific Studies of Prayer
To start, this week's cover story in TIME Magazine is titled, Evangelicals in America. A photoessay features the 25 most influential evangelicals in America, including two Catholic Christians. (Good for TIME!!) Interesting read. Covers the brainy (Chuck Colson) to the brainless (Tim LaHaye). [IMHO, LaHaye is an embarrassment to evangelicals. Even Tyndale, the publisher of his fantasies, is coming out with a challenge to LaHaye's nonsense - or should I say "no sense."]
NPR has an audio stream on scientific studies of prayer. I applaud such efforts, but the commentator doesn't seem to understand why they're so important. Still, a good feed. BTW, it's not available as a podcast.
Finally, REASON has a review of a book titled, The End of Faith: Religion, Terror and the Future of Reason. The guy who wrote it (the book, not the review) is more deranged than LaHaye and the review does a good job in pointing out the fallacies of his arguments. To the book's author, even Mother Teresa would have been a candidate for a suicide bombing mission.
From China, I bid all a Happy Lunar New Year!!

P.S.--I'm launching a podcast/audioblog titled, The Church Fathers This Week. The feed subscription address is http://feeds.feedburner.com/Christian .
